This Grenache and Carignan blend is authentic, wild and artisanal.
Bodegas Atalaya Laya 2015
Bodega Atalaya was founded by the Gil family in 2007. Although a young winery, the vines are old and the wines produced have been exceptionally successful both in Spain and internationally.
This wine is rich and full bodied, the flavour is of baked dark fruits, such as black cherry and blackcurrant coupled with exotic spice.
Last night we were delighted to welcome a full house to our first wine tasting of 2017.
Rafa Salazar took our guests on a journey through some of Spain’s finest wines from Rias Biaxas, Ribera del Duero, Rioja and beyond. We are already looking forward to our next tasting event details of which will be announced shortly.

The wines will be accompanied by a selection of delicious meats & cheeses, prepared by our Chef Nick and his team.

1/2 bottle fruity, easy drinking red under €10 (Recommended Italian Primitivo)
1/4 bottle of fresh Irish apple juice (Kilmullen Farm apple juice or similar)
Shot & 1/2 of Brandy (Longueville Brandy or similar)
Zest of orange and the juice of this orange
4 cloves studded in orange slices
2 cinnamon sticks
1/8 vanilla pod (optional)
3 dessert spoons of brown sugar
1 star anise (optional)
Add all ingredients to pot and let simmer at low heat for 10 mins. Let blend rest for 30 mins, not critical however it lets all the flavours infuse. Reheat never boil and serve. Note, do not serve too hot. Enjoy
