It not often you can credit a single person for putting a wine region on the map, but in Dr Konstantin Frank’s case you can. A Ukrainian émigré, he was the first to plant and test vines in the Finger Lakes region. The accolades and awards that have since followed are dizzying. His son Willy, following in his pioneering father’s spirit released the region’s first sparkling wine made in a Champagne style and the awards have continued to follow. Proof that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Very classic for chill out days
