Deep ruby red colour, with a warming nose of cranberries, kirsch and cinnamon. There’s a concentrated and fruity palate with plum and black cherry, raspberry and strawberries. Ripe tannins, softly textured and a rounded mouthfeel with a herbal lift on the finish.

Domaine de Lathevalles Morgon comes from Les Charmes, the acclaimed hilltop vineyard within the Eastern region of the Beaujolais cru of Morgon. Beaujolais is normally synonymous with light, rustic and early-drinking reds. Those from Morgon though are a little at odds with this. With more depth, structure and time in the bottle, wines from this appellation have as much in common with some of their neighbours down the road in red Burgundy. The comparisons don’t extend to the price though. With a strong of great vintages behind it, the cru-level wines of this region have a case for being the best value reds out there.
