    Domaine Luneau - Papin

Immensely Proud to Have this Very Important and Brilliant Muscadet House in our stable!

From the moment we tasted them, they were a must have. Energetic, nervy, exciting these are enthralling wines. This producer has been raising the bar higher and higher in their appellation and unequivocally deserve the plethora of awards they win year in year out.

Luneau-Papin is a 50-hectare family estate headed by Pierre-Marie Luneau in Le Landreau, a village in the heart of Muscadet country, where small hamlets dot a landscape of vineyards on low hills. Their estate, also known as Domaine Pierre de la Grange, has been in existence since the early 18th century when it was already planted with Melon de Bourgogne, the Muscadet appellation's single varietal. After taking over from his father Pierre in 2011, Pierre-Marie became the 8th generation to make wine in the area.

“Our distinction at Luneau-Papin is that we work parcel by parcel, terroir by terroir. You can't claim terroir if you don't highlight the link between the soil, the vegetal state of the vines and its surrounding environment. This means working the soil so we don't have to use herbicides anymore; to create a more natural place for the soil and the vines. In France, an entire property has to be converted to get an organic certification. You have five years to convert, and today 15 of our hectares are completely organic."
