Before there were vineyards in every valley north of San Francisco, before Napa and Sonoma were household names, before there was a California wine world at all, there was Buena Vista. Founded in 1857, Buena Vista is California’s first premium winery, and its history is as colorful as it is proud. In Carneros wind and fog from the San Pablo Bay cool the vines allowing the grapes a longer growing season giving an elegance to the wines.
Today, the legend is being re-born under the vision of Jean-Charles Boisset. Boisset purchased Buena Vista Winery in 2011 and immediately began a significant restoration to preserve and protect the winery's cellars and caves. In 2012, a full retrofit ensuring no visible impact to the historic character and features of the building was completed that allowed the long-closed cellars to re-open to the public.
We are extremely excited to present wines from this historic winery in Ireland.
Buena Vista Wines
"...brilliant aromas of white flowers and baked apple layered with notes of toasted almonds and clementines."
"...tempting aromas of blackberry and black cherry accented by nuanced notes of plum and a dash of cinnamon."
"...This is a smooth wine with elegant flavours of bright raspberry and strawberry that culminate in a long, lingering finish.”
